If you have already attempted the trial of Yahoo! Widget Engine, you may be familiar with the fact that in the Mac OS 9 / 10 this program has been removed from the catalog and replaced with a WebSite Manager.

I have used the following techniques to install the Yahoo! Widget Engine Mac:
1. Use GPlinker to extract the.gz file (you may need to extract and then untar the file)
2. Login to your Yahoo! Account
3. Download the Yahoo! Widget Engine Mac from the Yahoo! website.
4. Go to the Mac Control Panel / System Tools / Utilities / Finder and copy the new.app file you have just downloaded to the place you store your other widget applications.
5. Login to your Yahoo! Account.
6. Click on the Widget icon at the bottom of the main page.
7. Click on the options icon (the small triangle) at the top right of the icon, and select Yahoo! Widget Engine Mac.
8. Click on the install icon (the triangle)
9. This will install Yahoo! Widget Engine Pro into your library.
Now you can use the Yahoo! Widget Engine Pro with your mac, and can also use the Yahoo! Widget Engine Mac, by selecting which one to use at the bottom of the Widget Options.

Skins
You can customise the clock face by editing the skin file, which is just a collection of resources including picture files.
For each skin, the default picture file has been included in the installer.
Additional skins can be downloaded from the skins section, and also included within the application.
Zip/RAR compression
To install the application, you will be asked to select a zip/rar file (or unzip a.rar file).
This will extract the application files from the zip/rar into the application directory.
The application will automatically refresh the clock face when this is done.
To install additional skins or picture files, you will be asked to extract the files from the zip/rar into the skins directory.
When unzipping the application, you will find two directories included.
The skins directory will contain all the skins, and the other directory will contain all the picture files.
The skins directory is hierarchical.
All the skins in a directory are stored in that directory, but they are separated by language code.
When you extract a zip/rar file, it will create a directory for that zip/rar file, and all the skins contained within the zip/rar file will be extracted into the skins directory for that zip/rar file.
To manually add skins and picture files, simply copy them into the skins directory.
If you place the picture files in a sub-directory of the skins directory, you will need to rename them to include the sub-directory in their name.
You can also copy skin files directly from the skins directory to the skins directory, but this may not work with all skins.
Be careful. Some skins may not function with the rename to include the sub-directory.
The zip/rar file will include a picture file for each skin, and a skins.cfg file that contains the skin name of the picture file you have used for each skin.
The skins.cfg file is a standard XML format, which you can edit to change which skins are used for each skin.
